About us.
We are a Mother Daughter blog from QLD Australia, who love our food both sweet and savoury and love playing with bizarre flavour combinations (Arnott’s Chocolate Jatz were delicious and you can’t change our mind).
In 2022 a few months after my 18th birthday I got Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and really struggled with continuing to eat the food I want. I was told I had to cut out pasta (Like I could live without pasta), eat as little carbs as possible and that dessert was no longer on the table for me.
This was a struggle for me as Mum and I always bonded over food and despite mum happy to change her diet with me I was not willing to let her give up the food that we love for me. So I decided to do my own research and find other Type 1 Diabetics and see how they live their lives because surely there are other people like me who love their food despite the fact their body doesn’t want them too.
And I was right plenty of people still eat normal foods and drinks and have completely normal lives, the key being Carb Counting and Insulin timing.
Mum and I started creating videos on TikTok and Instagram 2019 because we love our food and any chance to experiment, decorate or eat is absolutely a win in and our book. So we decided to share our creations with the world to hopefully inspire people to try to new things. Then when I got diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes I was scared that the Journey would end for us, but I realised it was only the beginning, and an opportunity for us to share with the world how we live life and still enjoy our food.
