The giant jar of sprinkles is a staple in every household pantry. Well it always has been in ours at least. They are so versatile, from cupcakes to cookies to ice cream to fairy bread. The list is endless. But not only is there sprinkles and 100s and 1000s but there is also different flavours different themes, it can be so overwhelming. It no longer feels as simple as having the giant jar of 100s and 1000s in the cupboard ready, how do you know which ones to pick?

Queen Strawberry Flavoured Crunch

Queen Strawberry flavoured crunch

I am starting off a bit controversial, because you might not count these as sprinkles. So if they can’t even be classed as sprinkles how can they be our favourites?

Well the simple answer. To us sprinkles are anything you ‘sprinkle’ on top of a sweet this can be the classic sprinkles and 100s and 1000s or crushed up cookie pieces. In our eyes once something is small enough to be ‘sprinkled’ it is then sprinkles. But to answer your question as to why these are our favourite. They are delicious, so true to their name. They don’t have the eating pure sugar feel that a lot of sprinkles do have. These remind us a lot of freeze dried strawberries, which we usually crush up to make as sprinkles anyway. So these are the perfect the solution when looking for elegant berry flavoured sprinkles for not only a fun pop of colour but also a pleasant, real berry flavour to add to your dessert.

Traditional 100s and 1000s

You really can’t go wrong with the Classics. That’s why they are classics.

100s and 1000s are so much fun. So many bright colours, and so versatile. They can be used in or on Cupcakes, cookies, icing and and most importantly they are the hero of the famous Aussie treat, Fairy Bread!!

If you haven’t heard of Fairy Bread, it is a staple at all Aussie kids birthdays and a delicious lunch box treat. The delicious combination of bread, a thick layer of butter and loaded up the 100s and 1000s on top. It is important that this is made with rainbow 100s and 1000s because otherwise it’s not the same, it’s a delicious sweet crunchy goodness that everyone loves.

You can also put 100s and 1000s in cupcakes for a bit of fun colour, or on top of cupcakes and cookies for fun colour and crunch, literally anything you want colour and a crunch, 100s and 1000s are your answer.

Dollar Sweets Flavoured Dusting Sugar

Dollar Sweets Flavoured Dusting Sugar

Another controversial, is this really sprinkles? We say yes! Even better they taste delicious!!

Like its cinnamon, vanilla and salted caramel sugar. Yes please!!

I love putting these on top of cookies, and cupcakes. We made apple cinnamon cupcakes and dipped the top in cinnamon sugar, sooooo good. But the amazing thing about these is that all 3 flavours go with pretty much anything and everything, also its sugar so it makes your desserts look sparkly on camera under lights which is just a win on its own.

So not only is it delicious but it’s also aesthetic, what a win!!

Dollar Sweets the Colours of the Rainbow

Now I was excited when I found this!

So we always buy the Dollar sweets colour themed shakers (where for example all the sprinkles are pink but they are different shapes). This pack has 6 compartments, and each compartment has a different colour of sprinkle with little fun shapes through it to go with the colour (the red has hearts, yellow has stars etc).

For how inexpensive this product is it we had to add to the list. Especially if you are first getting started with cake or cupcake decorating this cute little kit gives you the ability to only us specific colours without having to buy specific themed shakes just for one project. Saving money and being cost effective is always a win in our book!

Dollar Sweets Neapolitan

Dollar Sweets Neapolitan

We are suckers for Neapolitan. Neapolitan ice-cream, Neapolitan chocolate, Neapolitan cupcakes. So when dollar sweets came out with Neapolitan sprinkles we had to give them go.

Look we are not going to lie to you the Neapolitan flavour isn’t strong, but I don’t think you would want it to be. Especially when using it in baking or it might take over your dessert. We made vanilla cupcakes and added Neapolitan sprinkles to the batter so they were baked into our cupcakes, which just added a nice hint of extra flavour, so you could still tell you were eating vanilla cupcakes it just had a bit of extra flavour which is exactly what we were looking for.

We love sprinkles, if you go through our TikTok you can see how often we use sprinkles and 100s and 1000s, you really can’t go wrong. They’re are so many different types, flavours and themed bottles now you can always find something to match your project.

This list was just a few of our favourites, let us know your favourite sprinkles, and if there is any sprinkles you would like to see us try or if you would like to see us try sprinkles on anything.

We would love to hear what the most of unusual thing you have ever put sprinkles on? We would love to give your ideas and creations a go.
